Over the weekend I became a fan of the Neil Joubert white wines, namely the 2010 Sauvignon Blanc (which recently won a Michael Angelo gold medal) and the Chardonnay. They are delicious and great value, available from Ultra Liquors countrywide.
At this time of year I definitely have to forgo certain luxuries for more budget friendly items, and in my world that doesn’t mean ‘no wine’ it just means ‘wine bargain hunting time’.
The Ultra in Greenpoint sells the award-winning sauv for about R32 per bottle.
